Plug in a controller, and the app displays per-note pitch bend, pressure or aftertouch, and expression data across a set of configurable visual modules.

The app ships with eight modules that can be freely dragged, resized, and rearranged on a shared canvas: Aura, Grand Staff, Note Timeline, Expression Breakdown, MIDI Stream Log, PB/Mod, and an on-screen Keyboard, among others. Several visual styles are available for rendering the expression data itself, including bars, rings, particles, a flythrough tunnel, a kaleidoscope view, contour maps, a spider web, and a DNA helix — options that range from strictly functional to genuinely striking as generative visuals in their own right. The app also supports full recording of a session, including MIDI clock, useful for reviewing a performance after the fact.

Why This Is More Than a Novelty

For working MPE musicians, the practical value here is diagnostic. If a patch feels unresponsive to slide or pressure, it's often unclear whether the problem is the controller's calibration, a MIDI routing issue, or how the receiving synth interprets the incoming CC data. Being able to watch the raw per-note stream in real time — separated out by pitch bend, pressure, and timbre — turns that guesswork into something you can actually observe and correct.

There's also a teaching dimension.
